The Project

Earl Grey School required an emergency replacement gym after nearby Elbow Park School had been destroyed in the 2013 Calgary spring flooding. Innovative and lightweight construction materials were chosen for the project to allow for a short building period in harsh winter conditions. The building is comprised of an exterior Sprung Structure. The interior flooring is a unique combination of Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) placed on top of screw piles.

Our Solution

AHC’s integrated team approach of collaboration between the consulting team and major suppliers lead to the overall project success. We were able to complete the project in only three months and during the harsh Calgary winter conditions. The client was very happy to utilize the gym before the end of the 2014 school year.
