Scope

AHC successfully completed the Seaspan Land-Based Test Site (LBTS) project at their Vancouver Shipyards in North Vancouver, BC. This project, initiated by Seaspan, aimed to enhance their shipbuilding capabilities by allowing for the integration and testing of vital ship communications, navigation, and other electronic equipment before their installation on vessels. The endeavor involved converting an existing 4,525-square-foot wood shop into a state-of-the-art facility for testing bridge equipment and constructing an exterior communications tower to test related equipment.

Interior improvements included significant electrical and mechanical upgrades, a raised floor system, and the installation of specialty equipment. The exterior communications tower, a separate steel structure, features an exterior staircase and an elevated electrical room. Construction of the interior improvements began in May 2023 and was completed in September 2023. The tower construction started in July 2023 and was finished in January 2024. To minimize the building’s carbon footprint, new lighting and HVAC systems were incorporated into the upgrades, ensuring the facility aligns with modern environmental standards.
