Project Background

The previous Yasodhara Ashram Temple of Light was lost in a fire and the client wanted to rebuild based on the original circular concept. Patkau Architects designed a unique geometric structure that created a space of tranquility and peace. This unique design pushed us to use innovative construction methods to achieve the bent/wavy walls, complicated geometric angles, custom cut windows, ad unique furnishings.

Our Solution

We were involved one year prior to construction to collaborate with the design team to ensure constructability and budget requirements were met. This building was drawn in 3D to allow for prefabrication of unique building components. Our integrated team approach of collaboration between the consulting team and major suppliers lead to the overall project success. We were able to make adjustments during the project to ensure client satisfaction and budget requirements.
